For globetrotters always been a difficult topic: the voltage. In Germany we have a voltage of 220/230 Volt and therefore often the electrical appliances can only use this voltage.

If you travel a lot then we recommend purchasing switchable electrical appliances such as shavers and curler and a corresponding adapter. 

A travel iron and hair dryer is not necessary to bring with you because in many hotels you find such devices as standard equipment. 

In Germany our plugs have 2 thick round contacts which go into the wall outlets. While in America there are often 2 narrow thin, vertical contacts and sometimes a third contact in the middle is required. If this third contact is missing in your adapter then it may happen that the adapter is not working properly and the charging of a battery lasts longer than expected.
