Sinkholes are soil sinks which are created when by the crumbling and collapses of underground chalk caves happen. In the positive case the collapse of a sinkhole is announced by a slow lowering of the soil so that people who are near the sinkhole can bring themselves in security. In Florida there was in 1981 a spectacular collapse of such a chalk cave. In the 280 feet (=90 m) wide collapse craters are then 6 cars and a house sunk.
