President's Day in Florida USA. 

Because of the history of the United States presidents play a different role than in other nations. The United States of America show their tribute to all of their past presidents with this special holiday.

Up to 1971 in most states celebrated the birthday of Abraham Lincoln (12^th of February) and all other states celebrated the birthday of George Washington (22^nd of February), 1^st President of the United States. With this special day of memorial the most important presidents of the United States should be honored.

During the presidency of Richard Nixon in 1971 a national wide holiday was introduced. This holiday - President's Day - this has been fixed by the decision of the Government on 3rd Monday in February. This day is close to the actual birthday of George Washington so that this day is usually known as "Washington's Birthday".
