In Florida there is a 2-chamber system of government. It consists of a senate which consists of 40 politicians and the House with 120 members. In these two chambers the state laws of Florida is decided. The state chief is the Governor who is assisted by the Cabinet. He leads the state and represents the state. The State of Florida was until a few years ago politically a Democrats state. Today the Republicans have the majority. On 6th of November 2006 the current governor, Charlie Crist, was elected into the office and followed his predecessor, Jeb Bush. During the presidential election Florida is one of the major states because the State of Florida has many residents and brings so many voters into the presidential election.
