Parking in Florida USA. 

The shopping centers and supermarkets have their own customer parking which may be used without charge.

In the centers of large cities and on the beach are only limited parking spaces available and often provide parking meters. Parking fees vary and may be from 25 cents to $ 1 per hour.

If you have chosen a parking lot with parking meters it is recommended that remember the parking period precisely. Parking timeouts can be very expensive. In addition to the fines for exceeding the parking time the Americans know the penalty of the parking lock and towing. These measures are applied much more consistently than in Germany. If no parking space is offered so you may park your vehicle at the roadside. But there are some important rules which must be respected if you do not want to risk punishment:

• never park in a prohibited parking zone and beyond the displayed parking time 
• stay away at least 10 feet (=3 m) from a hydrant 
• never park at a bus stop or an exits 
• curb red: absolutely no parking 
• curb yellow / black: loading zone, only to loading and unloading 
• curb blue: reserved only for disabled drivers
