Disney's Hollywood Studios is the smallest of the major Disney parks. The park demonstrates in entertaining shows the making of movies especially animated films. The entertainment park is part of the outer area of the Walt Disney studios in Florida. For this reason there are sometimes film sets in parts of the park and at that time the public is not admitted in the filming area. You can get information about this "Special Event" at the guest service of the park. The shows and attractions in this park show interesting details of the film industry. These details often refer to the recent films of the Disney Company such as "Indian Jones" or "High School Musical 2."
The buildings and shops in these main streets are designed according to their name. The Streets of America show theater and showcase scenes from the 40s. On one side of the street the visitor is in New York and on the other in San Francisco.
At the end of Sunset Boulevard you find the ride "Tower of Terror". When you get into the elevator cabin you are driven through the movie hotel. You stop at some ghost rooms and listen to the ghosts in these rooms before the elevator falls down from the 13th Floor. This “Elevator cash” is repeated for several times till you get to the end of the ride. If you have a weak stomach you can get into trouble. Those scary moments of free fall are fixed on a photograph which you can buy at the exit of the ride. Right next door you find the "Rock 'n' Roller Coaster”. In this roller coaster you have fast loops and screws which twisted you through the air.
Those who are more interested in an adventure trip to the moon Endor can make this journey at the "Star tour" station on. 3PO (known from Star Wars) checks the shuttle before the start procedure and gives some helpful instructions before departure of the trip. In the afternoon there is also a parade in this park. The characters of this parade you certainly know from the Disney films of the recent years. Currently the hippest characters in the parade are from the musical movie "High School Musical 2". In the "Indian Jones" stunt show the visitor finds a presentation of the most exciting movie adventure of the history professor. For fans of car racing and motorcycle stunts the show "Light, Motor, Action!" with its rapid scenes is the best choice. For a small excursion into the world of special effects the "Studio Backlot Tour" is just right. Here you can make your own experience as a volunteer. You are a part of the crew in a staged naval battle. The 3D experience which you should not miss in this park is in the Muppet Show. In this show Kermit and Miss Piggy perform their talents accompanied by the cynical remarks of the two older gentlemen in the gallery.
To get a good place you should come at least 2 hours before the beginning. Seating is limited to 10,000 and they are always taken.
