The communication language in the United States is normally English. However, there are some small differences to the British English which the most of us have learned in school.

The American pronunciation more is broad while the British pronunciation is spoken more nasally.

Besides the pronunciation there are also differences in the words itself. A big vehicle is called “truck” in the United States while the Englishman uses the word “lorry”. Other common expressions are “elevator” instead of “lift” or “excuse me” instead of “pardon”.
